"Then he said to him, 'Rise and go; your faith has made you well.'" (Luke 17:19)

Reflection

Jesus' final words to the returning leper contain the culmination of persistent prayer: "Your faith has made you well." The Greek word means saved, healed, made whole—completely restored. All ten were cleansed of leprosy, but only one was made truly well. The difference was in the completion of faith—asking, obeying, and returning with thanks.

This is what persistent prayer ultimately accomplishes: not just the changing of circumstances, but the saving of souls. The real purpose of giving thanks, of completing the circuit, is to effect an even greater blessing than we originally asked for. We pray for healing and receive salvation. We pray for provision and receive transformation. We pray for breakthrough and receive wholeness.

Could it be that some people were healed by Jesus but didn't receive salvation because after their healing, they didn't put their full trust in Him? The question challenges us: are we like the ten who receive blessings but forget to thank the Giver, or like the one who turned his blessing back into praise and thanksgiving?

As you continue in persistent prayer, remember that God wants to give you more than you're asking for. He wants to make you well—not just fix your circumstances, but transform your soul. Your faith, expressed through persistent prayer and persistent thanksgiving, opens the door to blessings beyond healing. It opens the door to wholeness.

Jesus, I don't just want my circumstances changed—I want to be made well. I want wholeness, salvation, complete restoration. Thank You that persistent prayer leads to more than answered requests; it leads to transformation. As I continue crying out to You, help me also to return to You with thanksgiving. Complete the work You've begun in me. May my faith make me well. Amen.
