"Those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings as eagles; they will run and not be weary; they will walk and not faint." — Isaiah 40:31, NKJV
Reflection
The healing that Jehovah Rapha offers is often a healing of our capacity to keep going.
There are seasons — long, grinding seasons — when the siege does not lift quickly, when the illness becomes chronic, when the grief settles in for years rather than weeks.
In those seasons, we are not called to feel strong. We are called to wait. And waiting on the Lord is not passive; it is one of the most active, courageous things a person of faith can do.
It means refusing to give up. It means returning to prayer when it feels like nothing is happening. It means trusting that the same God who formed the eagle's wing is forming something in you — a resilience, a depth, a faith — that would not exist without the wait.
Healing sometimes looks like the moment you realized you were still standing when you should have collapsed. That is Jehovah Rapha at work.
Today's Takeaway: God renews strength in every season of waiting.
Reflection Question
Where in your life right now are you most tempted to run ahead of God's timing — and what might it look like to actively choose to wait on Him instead?
Action Step
Reflect on a previous season when you waited on God and He came through — perhaps not in the way you expected, but He did not leave you without strength. Write it down in two or three sentences. Then speak this truth aloud: "God renewed my strength then. He will renew it now."
Prayer
Lord, I am tired. The waiting has been long and the road has been hard, and if I am honest, I am not sure how much further I can go on my own. But that is exactly where You meet me. I surrender my strength to You today and ask You to do what only You can do — renew it. Let me rise again with wings like an eagle. Let me run the race before me without collapsing. You are my source, Jehovah Rapha, and from You alone comes my healing strength. Amen.
