Reflection
Judas thought he knew what was best. Perhaps he grew impatient with Jesus' timeline, disappointed that the Messiah wasn't matching his expectations. In his impatience, he took matters into his own hands, and it cost him everything. Peter, too, struggled with impatience—wanting to lay down his life for Jesus immediately, not understanding that God's timing was different from his own.
How often do we make the same mistake? We grow restless waiting on God's plan and decide to forge our own path. "God, you're not managing things well," we think. "If you don't do something, then I will." But our impatience rarely leads us toward life; instead, it often leads us toward failure and regret.
Prayer is the antidote to impatience. When we bring our restlessness to God, when we honestly confess our frustration with His timing, we create space for His peace to work in our hearts. Prayer reminds us that we are not in control—and that's actually good news. The God who holds the universe also holds our circumstances, and His timing is always perfect, even when it doesn't feel that way.
Action Step
Identify one area where you're feeling impatient with God. Instead of acting on your frustration, commit to praying about it daily this week. Write down your prayers and watch how your perspective shifts.
Prayer
Lord, forgive me for the times I've rushed ahead of You. Help me trust Your timing even when I don't understand it. Give me patience to wait on Your perfect plan. Amen.
