"Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, 'Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld.'" - 2 Chronicles 20:20

Reflection

After Jehoshaphat sought the Lord, God spoke: "You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you." Notice what happened next—Jehoshaphat didn't hesitate. Early the next morning, they set out. When God gave direction, immediate action followed.

Many people get stuck waiting for absolute certainty before taking any step. They want God to show them the entire path before they'll take the first step. But faith doesn't work that way. God often reveals His will one step at a time, and He expects us to move when He speaks, even if we don't have all the details figured out.

Here's a liberating truth: God can handle your mistakes. He can work with your imperfect obedience and course-correct along the way. What He cannot work with is your complete inaction. The person who buries their talent in the ground out of fear receives the harshest rebuke in Jesus' parable. Don't let the pursuit of perfection paralyze you into disobedience. When you sense God's leading—whether it's to start that ministry, have that difficult conversation, or make that bold career move—take action as soon as possible. Set out in faith, stand up on the Rock of Ages, and speak with authority because God will not fail.

Prayer

Lord, forgive me for hesitating when You've called me to move. Give me the courage to take action even when I don't have all the answers. Help me trust that You will guide my steps as I walk in obedience. Amen.
