Reflection
Jesus gave His disciples clear instructions: don't do anything until you receive the power. In our action-oriented culture, this feels counterintuitive. We want to move, to accomplish, to check things off our list. But Jesus insisted they wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Here's the liberating truth: God doesn't call you to do amazing things. God calls you to be available so He can do amazing things through you. The Holy Spirit is what empowers the mission and changes people's hearts. This means outcomes are not your responsibility—they're beyond your pay grade.
Being baptized with the Holy Spirit means living an immersive experience where everything changes. You gain power to shed selfishness and greed, to put on the new self in Christ, and to share good news with others. It's not about a second blessing you must earn—if you believe in Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit. It's about surrendering to His work within you and through you.

- What would it look like to wait for God's power rather than rush ahead?
Action Step
Before taking on any task today, pause and pray: "Holy Spirit, I need Your power for this. I make myself available to You."

Holy Spirit, I cannot accomplish anything of eternal value without You. Fill me, immerse me, change me. Work through my availability rather than my ability. Help me wait on Your power. Amen.
