"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." — 1 Peter 5:7
Reflection
Peter's instruction is simple but profound: cast all your anxiety on God. Not some of it. Not the acceptable ones. All of it. Why? Because He cares for you. Today, we're going to practice a specific way to do this.
First, write down everything you're worried about—health, finances, children, work, relationships, the future. Everything.
Second, recognize that worry won't fix any of these things.
Third, transform each worry into a prayer. For instance, "I'm worried about money" becomes "God, You are my Provider. Show me wisdom with what I have and help me trust You for what I need."
Fourth, keep this list where you can see it. Every time worry returns about these items, don't rehearse the worry—rehearse the prayer. This practice retrains your mind. Over time, your first response to anxiety will become prayer instead of panic.
Reflection Question
What worries am I rehearsing repeatedly instead of releasing to God in prayer?
Action Step
Create your worry list and transform each item into a prayer. Commit to rehearsing these prayers instead of your worries for the next week.
Prayer
Father, I cast all my anxieties on You today—every single one. Thank You for caring about each concern. Help me to rehearse prayers instead of worries, and retrain my mind to turn to You first. Amen.
