Reflection
Nothing can stop what God has said will happen. When God makes a promise, no evil can prevent it, no circumstance can overcome it. All of His promises are yes and amen. This is the foundation of powerful prayer—absolute confidence in God's Word.
The Christmas story demonstrates this beautifully. Centuries before Jesus was born, prophets spoke of His coming. They said the Messiah would be born of a virgin in Bethlehem, from the line of David. They said He would be called Immanuel. Every single word spoken came true. Not one promise failed.
When the angel told Mary what would happen, he spoke with complete confidence—not because of what Mary could do, but because of what God could do. And Mary believed. Her cousin Elizabeth said of her, "Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her."
As you pray this Christmas season, are you praying God's promises back to Him? Are you standing on His Word with the same confidence Mary had? Or are you hesitant, doubtful, uncertain? God has given us His Word as a foundation for faith. When you pray according to His promises, you're praying prayers that cannot fail. If God said it, He will do it.

Find one promise in Scripture that applies to your current situation. Write it down, and pray it back to God with confidence today and throughout this week.
Prayer
Faithful God, Your Word never fails. Help me to pray with confidence, standing on Your promises rather than my feelings. Teach me to believe like Mary believed—with my whole life, not just my head. Let Your Word be the anchor of my prayers. Amen.
