Hebrews 1:3 — "The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being."
Reflection
Think about the sun for a moment. It sits 93 million miles away, and yet on a summer day it can burn your skin. If it were a million miles closer, life on earth would be impossible. And yet — that same blazing star, at the right distance, warms your face on a cold morning. There would be no life on earth without it.
The writer of Hebrews uses this kind of imagery when describing Jesus. He is the radiance of God's glory — not a reflection, not a copy, but the outshining of God himself. To see Jesus is to see what God is like. His words, his choices, the way he treated broken people — all of it is God on display. Like the sun, the glory of Jesus doesn't crush us from a distance. It warms us.
He is also called "the exact imprint" of the Father's nature — like a signet ring pressed into wax, carrying the full authority and character of the one who holds it.
Jesus doesn't just tell us about God. He shows us God. Every act of compassion, every moment of truth-telling, every time he reached down and touched someone others had written off — that was the Father's heart made visible.

Read one chapter from the Gospels today specifically looking for what Jesus' actions reveal about the Father's character. Write down one thing you notice.

Father, thank you for making yourself visible in Jesus. Open my eyes today to see your character clearly through his life. Amen.
