Reflection
Paul described the gospel as the “power of God for salvation.” The Greek word he used for power is dunamis, where we get the word dynamite. The gospel carries explosive, life-changing power.
Too often, people treat Christianity like self-help advice or moral improvement. But the gospel is far more than inspiration. It changes hearts from the inside out. It rescues people from sin, restores broken lives, and gives eternal hope.
Paul understood that he did not need to alter or soften the message to make it effective. The power was already in the gospel itself. His responsibility was simply to proclaim it faithfully.
A singular spiritual focus means trusting God’s power more than your own abilities. It means believing that Jesus can transform what seems impossible. Sometimes we place more confidence in strategies, resources, or personalities than in the power of God.
But the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is still at work today.
When your life is centered on Christ, you begin living with expectancy. You pray boldly. You trust deeply. You believe God can heal wounds, restore relationships, break addictions, and renew hearts.
The gospel does not merely improve people—it makes them new.

Pray specifically today for one situation that feels impossible and ask God to move powerfully in it.

God, remind me that Your power is greater than my weakness. Strengthen my faith to trust fully in the transforming power of the gospel. Amen.
