When the angel Gabriel visited Mary, his first words were profound: "The Lord is with you." Mary was young, poor, uneducated, and from an insignificant town. Yet God chose her for the most significant role in human history—to be the mother of Jesus. Why? Because the Lord's presence made the impossible possible.
As we enter this Christmas season, consider how differently we might approach our prayers if we truly believed God is with us. Mary faced an unimaginable situation—explaining a miraculous pregnancy to her family and fiancé. But she didn't face it alone. Neither do you.
Your circumstances may feel overwhelming. Your prayers might seem to bounce off the ceiling. But Christmas reminds us that Immanuel means "God with us." The same God who was with Mary in her miracle is with you in yours. When you pray, you're not shouting into the void—you're conversing with the One who promised never to leave you.
How would your prayers change if you absolutely believed God was present with you? What boldness might you have? What requests might you bring?

Action Step
Write down one prayer request you've been hesitant to bring to God. Pray it today with confidence, beginning with "Lord, because You are with me..."
Prayer
Lord Jesus, Immanuel, God with us—help me to truly believe You are present with me. Give me the confidence Mary had to trust You with the impossible. Be real to me today, not just as a concept but as a living presence. Amen.
