When Jesus prepared to leave earth, He didn't leave us as orphans in our grief. He promised the Holy Spirit as our Comforter—a divine presence who advocates for us, counsels us, strengthens us, and stands by us forever. This promise transforms how we approach prayer in our brokenness.
The Holy Spirit serves as our Advocate, defending us against accusations and shame. As our Intercessor, He translates our groans and tears into prayers when words fail us. As our Counselor, He helps us process emotions we can't understand. As our Strengthener, He provides power for each day. As our Standby, He's always ready to help when we call.
In prayer, we're not speaking into empty space—we're communicating with the Spirit who knows our hearts intimately. When grief overwhelms us and we can't find words, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groans too deep for words. This divine partnership in prayer means we're never alone in our suffering.
