Reflection
No one is exempt from suffering. It doesn't matter how successful someone appears, how much money they have, or how much outward confidence they project. Everyone carries a hidden battle. Every person you pass today is fighting something you cannot see.
The person with the polished social media presence. The coworker who always seems fine. The church member who greets everyone with a smile. Beneath the surface, almost everyone is running on empty in some area of their lives.
Scripture never promises us a life free from pain. What it promises is a Savior who understands pain intimately. Jesus was not a distant God who observed suffering from a safe distance. He entered into it fully — betrayal, loneliness, physical agony, rejection. He is not surprised by your hidden battle. He is not disappointed that you are struggling.
He is the One who says, come to me. Not perform for me. Not pretend for me. Come. And when you come, you find not a judge, but a servant who knelt to wash dusty feet, who healed quietly and without fanfare, who sat with the rejected and the broken.
Your suffering is not disqualifying. It is an invitation to draw near.
