"I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!" — Psalm 116:1-2, NLT
Reflection
Jehovah Rapha — the Lord our Healer — is first and foremost a God who listens. Before He speaks a word of healing, He hears your cry.
The psalmist marveled that the God of the universe would bend low to catch the whispered prayer of a frightened heart. That same God hears you today.
Whether you are in a hospital room, a broken marriage, a season of grief, or simply a quiet moment of despair, your voice reaches Him.
Healing so often begins not with a miracle, but with the simple act of bringing your pain to the One who can do something about it. Like Jeremiah in his courtyard prison, lean in and listen — and trust that before you ever called out, God was already moving.
Today's Takeaway: When life is falling apart, God bends down to listen.
Reflection Question
Is there something you have been carrying in silence, afraid or unsure whether God is truly listening — and what would it mean for you today to believe that He already hears it?
Action Step
Set aside ten minutes today in a quiet place. Write down, honestly and simply, what you need God to hear right now. Don't polish it — just bring it. Then sit in silence for two minutes and allow yourself to receive the truth that He has already heard you.
Prayer
Lord, I come to You just as I am — hurting, uncertain, and in need of Your healing touch. Thank You that You are not far off, but close enough to hear every whispered cry of my heart. I choose to believe today that You are listening, that You are at work, and that You will not leave me in this broken place. Heal me, Jehovah Rapha, from the inside out. Amen.
