Reflection

There's a great divide between those who know about Jesus and those who truly believe in Him. Many people attend church, sing worship songs, and even read the Bible, yet they remain spiritually malnourished. They're starving to death spiritually because they've never moved beyond information to transformation, from knowledge about Jesus to personal trust in Him.

True belief isn't intellectual agreement with facts about Jesus; it's putting the full weight of your life on Him. It's like the difference between knowing about a chair and actually sitting in it. You can examine a chair, appreciate its craftsmanship, and understand its purpose, but until you trust it enough to rest your full weight on it, you haven't truly believed in its ability to support you.

The people listening to Jesus that day heard His words, but many walked away because they found them too difficult. They wanted the benefits of following Jesus without the commitment of truly believing in Him. They wanted the bread without the relationship, the blessing without the surrender.

Genuine belief in Jesus means full identification and participation with Him. It means trusting Him not just for eternal life, but for daily life. It means allowing Him to be Lord over your decisions, your relationships, your resources, and your future. It's not a passive acknowledgment but an active trust that changes everything about how you live.

Have you truly believed in Jesus, or are you still in the realm of knowing about Him? The difference isn't measured by your religious activity but by whether He has become your source of satisfaction, security, and hope.

Prayer

Jesus, I don't want to just know about You - I want to truly believe in You. Help me to put the full weight of my life on You. Where I've been holding back, give me courage to trust You completely. Amen.
