“Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” — Colossians 3:17
Reflection
Of all the things we hold tightly, time may be what we guard most fiercely. Money can be replenished. Time cannot. And so when we give our time -- genuinely, freely, without resentment -- it carries a particular weight as an offering.
Children, we are told, spell love T-I-M-E. So do the lonely. So do the grieving. So does the neighbor who just needs someone to sit with them for an hour without an agenda. The gift of unhurried presence is increasingly rare in a world of relentless efficiency, and precisely because it is rare, it is powerful.
But there is something even more radical in Colossians 3:17 -- the suggestion that every moment, not just the moments designated for ministry, can be offered to God. The commute, the meeting, the meal, the mundane errand -- all of it can be sanctified by the posture of the heart. When you do ordinary things in the name of Jesus, with awareness of His presence and a spirit of thanksgiving, even the unremarkable hours of your day become fragrant.
Time offered to God does not diminish -- it multiplies. What you give to Him, He returns with purpose.

Who in your life is longing for the gift of your unhurried, undistracted presence?
Action Step
Give one hour today to someone who needs your time -- with your phone put away and your attention fully given.
Prayer
Lord, my time is Yours before it is mine. Today I offer You the hours I have been given and ask You to direct them. Show me who needs my presence, and give me the grace to be fully there -- unhurried, attentive, and generous. Let my time become a form of worship. Amen.
