Reflection
There is a call that comes to every human soul — a holy summons that whispers beneath the noise of everyday life. It doesn't always arrive with clarity or fanfare. Often it comes like a quiet, persistent ache, a longing for something more. It's a holy thing with a mystical feel, like deep calling to deep.
The trouble is that most of us don't know what to do with this call. It feels too disruptive. Too costly. It doesn't fit the plan we've made for our lives or the expectations of the people around us. And so we push it down and try to fill the space with noise and busyness. But deep calls to deep. The summons doesn't stop.
The wise response is not to run from the call but to run toward the Caller. To press into prayer. To sit in the silence. To say, as Samuel did, "Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening." The depth of God is waiting to meet the depth of you.

Have you heard the deep call of God in your own life? How have you responded — with openness or avoidance?

Spend fifteen minutes in complete silence today. No agenda. Simply listen. If thoughts come, release them gently and return to listening.
Prayer
Lord, You call to the depths of my soul. I want to hear You. Quiet the noise of my life long enough for me to recognize Your voice. I open myself today to whatever You are calling me toward — and I choose to trust that Your summons is always good. Amen.
