“The Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of him.” — Luke 10:1
Reflection
When Jesus sent the seventy-two, He wasn’t looking for the most educated or influential. He chose ordinary people and gave them extraordinary purpose — to go ahead of Him and prepare the way. Their mission was simple: share peace, offer healing, and announce that God’s kingdom had come near. Jesus still sends His followers today, not to new towns necessarily, but into workplaces, classrooms, homes, and neighborhoods. Wherever you go, you represent Him.
Notice that Jesus sent them “two by two.” He designed our mission to be shared. You’re not meant to walk this journey alone. God provides companions for courage and accountability — people to lift you when you’re weary and to celebrate with you when faith bears fruit. Every friendship in Christ can become a partnership in mission. Together, we remind the world that Jesus is alive and still moving toward them in love.

Reach out to a Christian friend and pray together about how you can share God’s love in your community.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for sending me and for giving me companions in the work. Give us courage to go where You lead and joy as we serve together. Amen.
