Reflection
Ben Hooper grew up bearing the shame of being born to an unmarried mother. Classmates taunted him, and everywhere he went, people stared and whispered, wondering who his father was. The weight of that shame followed him like a dark cloud.
One Sunday, a new preacher caught him after the service, placed his hand on the boy's shoulder and asked, "Whose boy are you?" Ben felt the familiar weight descending. But then the preacher's face lit up with recognition: "Wait a minute! I know who you are. I see the family resemblance. You are a son of God!"
Ben Hooper, who became Governor of Tennessee, called this the most important sentence ever spoken to him.
The Pharisees couldn't accept how Jesus saw people. They looked at sinners and said, "You can't be children of God." But Jesus said, "These are my beloved. These are my family." God's light reveals your true identity—not defined by your mistakes, your background, or others' opinions, but by His love.
The world's lights tell you you're not enough. Your looks don't measure up. Your life isn't worthy. But God's light reveals the truth: "You're my son. You're my daughter."

Write out John 1:12 on a card and place it where you'll see it daily this week. Read it aloud each morning.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for making me Your child. Help me see myself as You see me—beloved, accepted, and worthy because of Jesus. Amen.
