Jesus begins His model prayer with "Abba, Father"—not the formal, distant God of religious duty, but the intimate, caring Father who knows His children personally. We're not approaching a cosmic vending machine or an impersonal force; we're coming to a Father whose name is hallowed, whose kingdom is greater than our personal kingdoms.
When we say "Father," we acknowledge both intimacy and reverence. A good father listens, provides, protects, and guides. He's approachable yet worthy of honor. This balance transforms how we bring our requests—not as demands, but as conversations between family members.
