One Thing Above All

Scripture of the Day

"...But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead." — Philippians 3:13 NIV

Reflection

The world constantly competes for your attention. There are goals to chase, responsibilities to manage, and endless distractions pulling at your heart. Yet throughout Scripture, the people who experienced the greatest impact and intimacy with God were people of singular focus. The apostle Paul lived this way. His life revolved around one central passion: knowing Christ and making Him known.

Paul understood that scattered priorities create scattered lives. He had plans, dreams, and ambitions, but all of them were surrendered beneath God’s greater purpose. Instead of running in circles, Paul fixed his eyes on eternity. He refused to let temporary things distract him from what mattered most.

A singular spiritual focus does not mean ignoring your responsibilities. It means allowing every responsibility, relationship, and opportunity to flow from one defining truth: Jesus is Lord. When Christ becomes your center, your decisions gain clarity, your struggles gain meaning, and your life gains direction.

Many people spend years pursuing success, approval, comfort, or security only to discover those things cannot satisfy the soul. But when your focus is fixed on Christ, you begin to experience the joy and fulfillment that only God can provide.

This year does not need to be marked by confusion or spiritual drift. God invites you to live intentionally, purposefully, and fully devoted to Him.

Reflection Question

What distractions most often compete with your focus on Christ?

Action Step

Spend 10 minutes today in silence asking God to reveal what has been dividing your attention spiritually.

Prayer

Lord, center my heart on You. Remove distractions that pull me away from Your purpose. Teach me to live with clarity, passion, and wholehearted devotion to Christ alone. Amen.
