Reflection

Have you ever been rejected? Have you ever approached someone for help only to be turned away? The sting of rejection can leave lasting scars, making us hesitant to reach out again. But Jesus makes an incredible promise - He will never drive away anyone who comes to Him.

This isn't conditional love based on our performance or worthiness. It's not dependent on our past, our present circumstances, or our future potential. When Jesus says "never," He means never. No matter what you've done, no matter how far you've fallen, no matter how many times you've failed Him before - if you come to Jesus, He will welcome you with open arms.

Think about the people Jesus welcomed during His earthly ministry: tax collectors who had cheated their neighbors, women caught in adultery, thieves hanging on crosses beside Him, disciples who had denied and abandoned Him. Not one person who genuinely came to Jesus was ever turned away. His heart is always open, His arms always extended, His love always available.

Perhaps you've been hesitant to approach God because you feel unworthy or ashamed. Maybe you think you've done too much wrong or stayed away too long. But Jesus' promise stands firm - He will never drive you away. His love is perfect, His grace is sufficient, and His welcome is guaranteed. You don't have to clean up your life before coming to Him; He accepts you as you are and helps you become who He created you to be.

What fears or shame have kept you from fully approaching Jesus?

Action Step

Bring one area of shame or fear boldly to Jesus in prayer today, trusting in His promise to never turn you away.

Prayer

Jesus, thank You for Your promise to never drive me away. Help me to believe that Your love for me is not based on my performance but on Your character. Give me courage to come to You with all my fears, failures, and needs. Amen.
