"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." — 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV).

Reflection

Today's scripture from 1 Peter 5:7 is a beautiful, simple invitation. Name your biggest fear. Don't dress it up. Don't spiritualize it or pretend it isn't real. Just name it honestly before God, the way the women honestly arrived at Jesus' tomb on a dark morning with grief and fear and nowhere else to go.

And then — ask God to roll away the stone. Ask Him to open your heart to the truth that He died for you, that He was raised for you, and that His love is greater than anything you will ever face. These are not platitudes. They are facts. The cross happened. The tomb is empty. The love of God has been poured out and it has not run dry.

How can you pray in the face of fear? It's important to keep some important truths front and center in our minds. Fear is normal but not final. Faith is a journey. Because of the cross and resurrection, everything about death, suffering, and the future can be seen differently. Christ died for us because of love, and God's love drives out fear. God is with us in the midst of hardship and even death. We can help others feel unafraid as we fulfill Jesus' call to share the good news with others.

But all of that knowledge must eventually become a personal, daily act of prayer. You must come to Jesus with your specific, real, honestly-named fears and let Him speak His Easter words into your heart: "Do not be afraid." He is not here in the tomb. He has risen. And He is already ahead of you — in Galilee, in your marriage, in your illness, in your future — waiting for you there.

Action Step

Write a letter to God today naming every fear you carry. Then write His response, drawing from what you know is true about the cross, the resurrection, and His love.

Prayer

Lord, here it is — my fear, fully named, laid at Your feet. I don't want to carry it anymore. I believe You died for me. I believe You rose. I believe Your love is stronger than anything I face. Roll away the stone. Let me walk out of this fear into the resurrection life You've prepared for me. Do not let me be afraid. Amen.
