"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." James 1:22
Reflection
It's easy to consume spiritual content, nod in agreement, and then do absolutely nothing different. But here's the truth: if nothing changes in your actions, nothing will change in your life. God wants to move you from information to transformation.
The question you need to answer is specific and personal: What is your next spiritual step? Not someday, not when things calm down, not when you feel more ready—but now. This is your moment to stop making excuses and take one concrete step forward.
Perhaps your next step is making a tangible commitment to depend on God in 2025. Write down the three declarations from this devotional series and place them where you'll see them daily: "I depend on God's wisdom, not my own. I depend on God's riches, not my own. I depend on God's strength, not my own." Then speak them out loud and live them out in your decisions.
Or maybe your next step is about community—joining a church, connecting with a small group, or finding people who will encourage and challenge you in your faith. Whatever it is, don't let fear, pride, or procrastination hold you back.
God isn't asking for perfection; He's asking for a decision. One step forward. One act of obedience. One move toward deeper dependence on Him. A year from now, you'll be grateful you took that step today.

Action Step
Do one tangible thing today that moves you closer to God—make a phone call, send an email, open your Bible, or join a group.
