Scripture of the Day
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him.” — Colossians 2:6-7
Reflection
There is a difference between holding a belief and being rooted in it. Many believers hold correct beliefs about Jesus at arm's length -- as propositions they affirm but have not allowed to reach the deep places. They know that Jesus is the Christ. They could pass a theology exam. But the knowledge has not yet become the kind of lived reality that shapes how they handle fear, how they treat difficult people, how they face loss.
Living deeply means letting the truth of who Jesus is move from the head down into the bones. It means returning to the gospel not just when life breaks open but on ordinary days -- in the commute and the kitchen and the carpool -- allowing his presence to be as real there as it is in a Sunday service.
This is what the anointed life looks like from the inside: not spiritual intensity as a performance, but a settled, daily rootedness in Christ that holds when the pressure comes. Rooted people bend in the storm but do not break. Because what holds them runs deeper than the storm can reach.
Question for Personal Reflection
What would it look like for you to move from knowing the truth about Jesus to living deeply in it?
Action Step
Pick one truth about Jesus -- one you know but haven't been living in -- and intentionally return to it every time a challenge arises today.
Prayer
Lord, take what we know in our minds and let it become what we live in our bones. Root us in you, deep enough to hold. Amen.
