Reflection

Mary's response to the angel's announcement contains perhaps the most powerful prayer in Scripture: "Let it be to me as you have said." In those simple words, she surrendered her plans, her reputation, her safety, and her future. She said yes to God's will even when it made no sense, even when it would cost her everything.

This is the prayer that opens the door to miracles: "Let it be." Not "make it easy" or "help me understand" or "give me a sign first." Just "let it be." Mary didn't ask for a different plan. She didn't negotiate terms. She simply trusted that if God said it, it was good.

As we conclude this week of devotions, Christmas calls us to this same surrender. We've reflected on God's presence, His power, His promises, and the importance of true belief. But all of this comes together in one surrendered prayer: "Let it be."

What has God been speaking to you about during this Christmas season? What prayer have you been circling around without fully committing to? What miracle are you hoping for but afraid to fully surrender to? Mary shows us that the path to the impossible runs directly through surrender.

When you pray "let it be," you're not giving up—you're finally letting go. You're releasing your grip on outcomes and grabbing hold of God's character. You're trusting that His plans are better than yours, His timing is perfect, and His word will never fail.

Lord, I am Your servant. Like Mary, I say "yes" to whatever You want to do in and through me. Let it be to me according to Your word. I release my plans and embrace Yours. I trust that You are good, Your presence is with me, Your power overshadows me, and Your word will never fail. Let it be. Amen.
