"I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail." - Luke 22:32
Reflection
Before Peter denied Jesus, before his spectacular failure, Jesus told him something remarkable: "I have prayed for you." Even knowing Peter would fail, Jesus was already interceding for him. And the Bible tells us that Jesus continues this ministry today: "He is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them" (Hebrews 7:25).
Let this truth sink in: At this very moment, Jesus is praying for you. He's not surprised by your failures. He's not shocked by your weaknesses. He knows exactly where you'll stumble, and He's already praying that your faith won't fail completely, that you'll come back to Him, that you'll be restored.
This changes everything about how we view failure. We're not alone in our struggles. The Son of God Himself is bringing our needs before the Father. When we pray, we're joining a conversation that Jesus has already started on our behalf. Our prayers for strength, forgiveness, and restoration are prayers that Jesus Himself is praying for us. We don't have to convince God to help us—Jesus is already advocating for our restoration.
Action Step
Spend time today thanking Jesus for praying for you. Ask Him to help you believe that He's interceding for you, even in your failures.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for praying for me even when I fail. Help me trust that You're always interceding on my behalf. Strengthen my faith. Amen.
