Reflection
There is a breathtaking moment in Matthew 17 that we can easily rush past. Jesus has just been transfigured — his face blazing like the sun, his clothes white as light, Moses and Elijah flanking him in glory. And then he comes down. Down from the mountain. Down into the noise and need of everyday life.
This is not accidental. Jesus did not linger in the glory. He descended — straight into a desperate father, a struggling crowd, and confused disciples. The Son of God chose to come down to where we are.
That same Jesus comes down to you today. Whatever mountain of glory you imagine separates you from him, he has already crossed it. He is not waiting for you to get your act together before he meets you. He steps into your mess, your Monday morning, your grief, your confusion. The God of the universe has a habit of coming down — and he is doing it still.

Where in your life do you most need Jesus to "come down" and meet you right now?
Action Step
Take five minutes today to sit quietly and simply invite Jesus into the most ordinary, difficult, or messy part of your day.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank you that you did not stay on the mountaintop. You came down — into flesh, into struggle, into my ordinary life. Meet me where I am today. I don't need to climb to you; help me to trust that you have already come to me. Amen.
