Reflection
It seems counterintuitive—how can carrying a cross be the best path to follow? The answer lies in understanding how we were created. God designed us for a purpose, and that purpose is found in serving others, which requires denying ourselves.
This isn't a call to self-hatred or neglecting genuine needs. Rather, it's about laying down what we want in order to pursue what God wants. It means recognizing that our lives aren't ultimately about our own comfort, success, or satisfaction, but about reflecting God's love to a dark world.
Many people waste years pursuing paths they believe will bring happiness, only to discover they're still empty, still wanting more. The degrees, the home, the family, the income—all good things—can never fill the God-shaped void in our hearts. We were made for something more than accumulating blessings for ourselves.
The best path is the one where we walk in fellowship with Jesus, and that path always leads outward toward others. When we serve, we discover our true purpose. When we give ourselves away, we find ourselves. This is the paradox of the Kingdom—in dying to ourselves, we truly live.
