Scripture of the Day

"Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them." — John 14:23 NIV

Reflection

Home is one of the most powerful words in the human vocabulary. It conjures warmth, safety, belonging, and rest. And yet for many people, home has been a complicated or even painful place. That is why the promise of John 14:23 is so staggering — God Himself wants to make His home with you. Not a transactional arrangement. Not a conditional contract. A home.

True home is the place where you are accepted, loved without condition, where you can return again and again for safety and comfort. Many of us have tried to find that in other places. We've joined clubs. We've chased success. We've built social media followings. We've looked for belonging in all the wrong places.

But none of those places can offer what God offers. Sam's Club requires a membership fee. Facebook friends disappear when you say the wrong thing. Planet Fitness drops you if you miss your payment. But God's home has no dues. There is nothing you can do to earn it and nothing you can do to lose it once you have received it through faith in Christ.

Moses said it beautifully: "Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations." Before there was anything, God was home. He still is. Have you come home to Him?

Reflection Question

Have you ever truly made your home with God, or are you still living on the edges of religious experience without ever settling in?

Action Step

Write down three words that describe what "home" means to you. Then spend five minutes thanking God that He is all of those things and infinitely more.

Prayer

Father, You are my home. Not a building, not a place, not a feeling — but You. I come to You today, not with impressive credentials, but as a child who belongs to You. Thank You for receiving me. Help me to live today with the deep security of one who is truly home. Amen.
