Reflection
Healing from Jehovah Rapha often requires us to do something that only makes sense from a place of faith.
It might mean signing up for counseling when you're not sure it will help. It might mean returning to church when your wounds came from the church. It might mean choosing to eat well and steward your body when the diagnosis has left you feeling like it doesn't matter.
These are "fields" - acts of hope - that say, "I believe God is not done with me yet."
Joel and Laura clung to hope even as Laura's battle with stage 4 breast cancer grew more difficult. They didn't know the outcome, but they chose, day after day, to act in hope.
That is what faith looks like in a siege. It looks like buying the field.
Today's Takeaway: Hope is an action - taking the step that only faith can justify.
Reflection Question
What is one "field" God may be asking you to buy right now — one act of hope you have been holding back because the circumstances don't yet justify it?
Action Step
Identify one practical, hope-filled act you have been putting off because circumstances feel too dark — scheduling that appointment, making that call, beginning a recovery program, or returning to a practice of faith you've neglected. Today, take the first step toward it, and seal it in a "clay jar" by telling someone you trust what you did.
Prayer
God of hope, I confess there are times when I wait for healing before I take a step of faith. But today I want to follow Jeremiah's example. Give me the courage to act on what I believe even when I cannot see the outcome. Let my obedience be a testimony — to me and to those watching — that I trust You with my future. I will buy the field because You told me to. Lead the way. Amen.
